GS MARK The GS Mark, a widely recognised certification mark traditionally associated with the German marketplace, has now attained recognition Europe-wide and beyond. Use of the GS Mark demonstrates that the electrical safety of your product has been independently verified, minimises the risk and associated cost of potential claims and product recall, and provides you with a recognised marketing advantage. In Germany the purchase decision usually depends on the presence of a GS Mark! Any electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical product bearing the GS Mark indicates that it was tested and complies with the minimum requirements of the German Equipment and Product Safety Act (a.k.a. GPSG). The GS Mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit, meaning Safety Tested) is a licensed mark of the German government and may only be issued by an accredited product safety testing and certification agency. Strong reasons for bearing the GS Mark The GS Mark, although strictly voluntary, is highly regarded by German consumers and manufacturers alike. In fact products not bearing the mark, whether consumer or commercial, are nearly impossible to sell in Germany. The GS Mark also lends itself as a powerful marketing tool throughout Europe because it symbolizes safety and quality and instills a strong sense of confidence among consumers Advantages of the GS Mark include:>> Recognized by consumers throughout Germany and EU countries as a symbol of safety and quality >> Provides a marketing advantage by creating consumer trust, confidence, and purchasing motivation >> Minimizes manufacturers’ risk of product liability >> Provides manufacturers with the confidence that their products are safe, legal, and high quality >> Emphasizes your company’s commitment to safety and quality >> Assures end users that your product has been independently tested by an authorized third party for safety
>> Exceeds required legal standards in many cases >> More highly regarded than the CE Mark since it is verified by a third party testing and certification organization
