 VDE-PRUFSTELLE TESTING AND CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE
The VDE Testing and Certification Institute is accredited on a national and international level for the area of testing and
certification of electrotechnical equipment, components and systems. Testing of electrotechnical products is conducted
for safety, electromagnetic compatibility and other characteristics. The VDE Testing Institute was founded in the year
1920 in Berlin as an activity of the VDE Association. Since 1968 located in Offenbach am Main, the VDE Institute gained
worldwide importance. The results of testing are evaluated scientifically and contribute to the development of
electrotechnical standards.
VDE Mark
The VDE Mark for electrotechnical products indicates conformity with the VDE standards or European or internationally
harmonized standards and confirms compliance with protective requirements of the applicable EC Directive(s). The VDE Mark is a symbol for electrical, mechanical, thermal, toxic, radiological and other hazards. The VDE Mark
opens and ensures an easy entry to the global markets and is based on the worldwide acceptance of our testing
performance and capabilities as well as on the international recognition of the VDE Certificates.
